The new Riese & Müller Carrie2 Vario takes everything that made the original Carrie such a clever compact cargo bike and makes it even more versatile.

At only around 209cm long, it's similar in length to a conventional bicycle, yet its expandable front cargo area can be configured to carry children, your dog, shopping or everyday cargo.

The new Carrie2 also introduces dedicated Cargo, Family, Dog and Family Plus kits, allowing you to build the bike around exactly how you intend to use it.

New Bosch Performance Line PX – 90Nm

The Carrie2 is powered by the latest Bosch Performance Line PX Smart System motor, delivering a powerful 90Nm of torque.

That additional power is particularly welcome on a cargo bike. Whether you're carrying children, your dog or a box full of shopping, there's plenty of assistance available for hill starts and steeper climbs.

Choose between the 545Wh Bosch battery or upgrade to the larger 725Wh battery for increased range and riders regularly covering longer distances.

Enviolo Gearing & Gates Carbon Belt Drive

The Carrie2 Vario combines an Enviolo Heavy Duty continuously variable hub with a premium Gates CDX Carbon Belt Drive.

Rather than changing between fixed gears, simply twist the Enviolo controller until the pedalling feels comfortable. You can even adjust the gearing while stationary, which is particularly useful when stopping and starting with a loaded cargo bike.

The Gates carbon belt is clean, quiet and exceptionally low maintenance. There's no chain oil, no rust and no greasy mess, making it ideal for a bike that's going to be used every day.

One of the biggest improvements to the Carrie2 is the choice of dedicated equipment kits. You can configure the cargo area around exactly what you intend to carry.

Cargo Kit 

The Cargo Kit is designed for shopping, luggage, work equipment and general everyday carrying.

The clever expandable Flex Box provides considerably more carrying space when required while allowing the Carrie2 to remain remarkably narrow and compact when you're not carrying a large load.

It's an excellent choice for replacing short car journeys, supermarket trips and everyday errands.

Family Kit 

The Family Kit transforms the Carrie2 into a compact family cargo bike.

Children travel securely in front of you, where you can easily see and talk to them throughout the journey. The Carrie2's low centre of gravity, stable two-legged stand and compact dimensions also make loading children and handling the bike much easier.

Dog Kit

Compact When You Need It, Spacious When You Don't

The Carrie2's clever Flex Box is one of the features that separates it from much larger cargo bikes.

When closed, the bike remains remarkably narrow and easy to manoeuvre through town, park at home or store in limited spaces.

Open the Flex Box and you suddenly have a substantial cargo area for children, pets, shopping or larger loads.

And because the entire Carrie2 is only around 209cm long, it feels far closer to riding and parking a conventional bicycle than many full-size cargo bikes.

The adjustable saddle combined with Riese & Müller's height- and angle-adjustable stem makes changing between riders quick and easy.
