Moustache Clutch 160.8 – a serious e-MTB with Pinion MGU power

The Moustache Clutch 160.8 is built for riders who want to climb efficiently, descend with confidence and spend more time riding than maintaining a conventional drivetrain. Its defining feature is the Pinion Motor Gearbox Unit (MGU): a powerful central motor and 12-speed gearbox combined in one compact unit, paired with a clean, durable Gates carbon belt drive.

Why choose Pinion MGU?

Instead of a conventional rear derailleur, the Clutch houses its 12 gears at the centre of the bike. This protects the transmission from trail impacts, keeps the rear wheel free of a derailleur mechanism and allows smooth, positive shifting—even when stopped or pushing hard on a climb. Combined with the Gates CDX belt, it delivers a quiet, low-maintenance drivetrain designed for year-round mountain use.

Power for long days in the hills

The Pinion MGU provides up to 160 Nm of torque for technical climbs and demanding terrain. Its 780 Wh Moustache battery supports big days out, while the FIT Master Node display and Remote Pure controls keep assistance and ride information straightforward to manage on the move.

Built to descend

A 160 mm-travel alloy frame is paired with a 170 mm RockShox ZEB Select fork and RockShox Vivid Select rear shock. The mullet wheel setup—29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear—combines confident roll-over ability with agile handling, while Maxxis Assegai tyres and Magura MT5 four-piston brakes with 203 mm rotors deliver grip and control when trails get steep.

A 170 mm KS dropper post gives room to move on descents, and the 26.9 kg Clutch is offered in Slab Grey Glossy, Dune Matt and British Green Matt, with S, M, L and XL frame sizes.
