The Magene L508 Smart Rear Radar Tail Light combines intelligent rear-vehicle detection with a powerful high-visibility tail light, helping you stay more aware of traffic approaching from behind.

The radar can detect vehicles from up to 140 metres away, while the integrated rear light offers a wide 220° viewing angle and visibility from up to 1.2km.

Best of all, you don’t need an expensive Garmin or Wahoo computer to use it. The L508 can connect to the Magene Utility app on your smartphone, allowing your phone to act as the radar display and show approaching vehicles in real time.

Use Your Smartphone as the Radar Display

For many everyday riders and e-bike users, this is one of the biggest advantages of the L508.

Connect the radar to the Magene Utility app, mount your smartphone on the handlebars, and your phone can display traffic approaching from behind. The app can also provide visual and audible warnings, helping you stay aware of vehicles without constantly looking over your shoulder.

The app can also be used to adjust lighting settings and keep the L508 firmware updated.

This makes the L508 a particularly attractive option for riders who already use their phone for navigation and don’t want to buy a separate cycling computer.

Rear Radar Detection Up To 140 Metres

The L508 uses millimetre-wave radar to monitor traffic approaching from behind.

Vehicles can be detected from up to 140 metres away, helping give you earlier warning of what is happening behind you.

The radar also has a wide 40° detection angle, helping it continue to detect approaching vehicles through bends rather than only on perfectly straight roads.

Warns Approaching Drivers Too

The L508 doesn’t just alert you to traffic.

When a vehicle approaches from behind, the rear light can change its flashing behaviour to help make you more noticeable to the driver.

It also features a smart brake light, which reacts when you slow down and increases the light output to help warn traffic behind.

220° Rear Visibility

The integrated tail light provides a wide 220-degree viewing angle, helping you remain visible from different positions on the road.

With visibility from up to 1.2km, approaching motorists have plenty of opportunity to identify you ahead.

Seven Lighting Modes

The Magene L508 offers seven lighting modes to suit different riding conditions, including everyday road riding, commuting and group rides.

A dedicated Peloton Mode reduces brightness for riders travelling in a group, while radar-only mode allows you to use the detection system without the rear light when required.
