The following signs indicate that your child is fit to use a shotgun seat:

  • Your child can sit unaided.
  • Your child can follow basic instructions.
  • Your child can stay awake (throughout your bike ride).
What is the weight limit of a Kids Ride Shotgun Seat?

Both the Pro II and Pro EVO seats have a maximum child weight of 27 kg (60 lb).
Is Kids Ride Shotgun compatible with electric bikes?

Yes. The Pro II and Pro EVO models listed here are designed for both regular mountain bikes and e-MTBs. Fit requires a standard 1 1/8-inch steerer tube, at least 10 mm of clearance beneath the stem, a stem 50 mm or longer, and at least 14 mm of exposed seatpost. Check the fitting guide before purchase.
Can Kids Ride Shotgun be used with aluminium frame bikes?

Yes. The Pro mounting system does not clamp to or contact the bicycle frame, so frame material is not the deciding factor. Compatibility depends on the steerer, stem and seatpost clearance requirements shown above.
